BBC Young Trad Musician 2015!
Just back from a fab concert at City Halls to hear and whoop for Claire Hastings – my Friday assistant – as she sang beautifully as one of the 6 finalists in BBC Young Traditional Musician 2015. AND SHE WON!!!
It was just fantastic to see and hear her perform on stage at City Halls and she was brilliant. So delighted for her!

Lovely to see everyone at the Friday classes yesterday. I arrived back from India on Thursday and my titanium arm is only feeling a little cold! Looking forward to singing and seeing everyone on Wednesday. The children in Mumbai were great but I missed you all here. If you have the LA book, please look it out and have a sing.

I am off to India on 2nd January to teach again at the music school in Mumbai. I will be back on Thursday 15th all fresh for my Friday classes on 16th. On my flight back last time, a student asked to swop seats with me so he could sit next to his friend and I had to move to business class. I couldn’t believe my luck. A lovely way to end my trip as it was an overnight flight and the bed was fabulous. (I don’t think I will so lucky this time).

What a lovely Wednesday of classes! From the morning 1yr olds to the P2’s at the end of the day. A great day of singing and dancing. There was only the slight problem of a power failure in the morning and the lights failing in the afternoon – but apart from that the hall was warm! Thank you for all my cards and presents – most of the chocolate has been eaten already (I did share it with my family).

Wednesdays are back!
1,2,3,4,5,6yrs olds are all back on a wednesday and is was great to see new children in the classes and returning friends.
I have a few books and CD’s left so if you would like one, please see me on Wednesday (as I have given my clerical assistant the day off).

There will be normal classes this Friday. Having just started back I didn’t think we should have a holiday – whatever happens on the 18th….
Lovely to be back!
I was great to see everyone today. I was so impressed by the children in all 3 classes. They remembered so much and were very gentle with me (the older ones hugged me one by one – not the usual charging!)
I did have a wee nap this afternoon but am feeling surprisingly okay.
Looking forward to starting the Wednesday classes now.
